1.      Open a checking or savings account so when you have to borrow money from lenders, your savings account, will be looked at time to determine if you can now responsibly handle money.
2.      Apply for store and gas credit cards that would  pay you in cash.
3.      Don't apply for a credit card but for a secured card, where you can deposit cash and charge against it.
4.      Pay your utility bills, house rent and all other types of rents on time for at least a year.
5.      Hunt for a close friend or relative to co-sign for you on a loan and pay it back on time, don't delay your payments.
6.      Lookout for car dealers and mortgage brokers that attest to be "bankruptcy friendly". you can buy a used car so you do not get hit with the depreciation that occurs during the first two years of a new purchased car.
7.      And please stay away from payday loans as they have the highest interest rates and are a "bad credit" trap, in which you easily fall.
8.      Write a letter to each of the credit reporting agency explaining what circumstances lead you to filing for bankruptcy.
9.      Do not live out of your means, spend as much is required. Do not unnecessarily loss control of  your debt to income ratio by taking on credit to buy luxury items that you actually do not need. Your payments on consumer debt should equal no more than 20% of your expendable income after costs for housing and a vehicle.
10.     Last but not the least pay your reaffirmed, pre-bankruptcy debts on time.

By using these tips i can assure  you that you will be back on the track and these tips will always come in handy whenever you find yourself in such a place. So gain control of your credit so that you don't suffer from the same problem that you are facing now.
